The region lies within the doldrum region with the atmosphere being moist and unstable throughout the entire forecast period with high chances of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening associated with sea breeze convergence and/or the anabatic lifting of sea breezes.Also possible showers and thunderstorms during the early hours and morning with land breeze convergence over the Straits of Melaka.The steering flow will be light for the rest of today and tomorrow,from the north/northwest from Sunday until Tuesday and then possibly a strengthening westerly to southwesterly from Wednesday as the weak near equatorial trough strengthens to the north but still some uncertainties.
