The region lies within the doldrum region with the atmosphere being moist and unstable throughout the entire forecast period with significant chances of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening associated with sea breeze convergence.Also possible showers and thunderstorms during the early hours and morning with land breeze convergence over the Straits of Melaka.The steering flow will be light for the rest of today and tomorrow,from the north/northwest from Sunday until Tuesday and then possibly a strengthening westerly to southwesterly from Wednesday as the weak near equatorial trough strengthens to the north leading to slightly increased chances of showers and thunderstorm during the early hours and evening but slightly reduced in the afternoon/evening relative to earlier in the week but still some uncertainties.
