Update:Showers and thunderstorms are occuring within the forecast area this afternoon due to sea breeze convergence having triggered some of the development as well as showers and thunderstorms to the north/northwest being steered south/southeastward by the light steering flow from the northwest.

Tomorrow similar weather conditions to today with enhanced risk of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours in a very moist and unstable atmosphere with sea breeze convergence likely with a light steering flow from the northwest which will lead to a slight chance of showers in the early hours and morning as well as showers and thunderstorms form in the Straits of Melaka during the early hours and morning due to land breeze convergence.

Light northeast monsoon conditions persist over the region throughout the forecast period.

From Tuesday drier 
and more stable air from the subtropics penetrates into the 
region,especially from Thursday,reducing the rain chances to slight to medium chances with the development of sea breeze convergence still expected then along with strong solar heating.The timing of any showers and thunderstorms during Thursday and Friday should be later than earlier during the week as the drier air means that it will take time for the convection inhibition to be overcomed and instability to build up with the strong solar heating.

The rain chances increases again next weekend as the atmosphere is expected to become more moist and unstable with sea breeze convergence also expected then.
